Q&A

How many guests will be attending?

There are 8 private suites available, and we anticipate hosting 8 couples. Some rooms offer the flexibility to accommodate up to two couples. While the Grand Villa has a maximum capacity for 32 guests, our expectation is to maintain a more intimate gathering, with an estimated attendance of 16-20 guests.

Can a guest come that does not play pickleball?

Absolutely! We understand that Costa Rica offers an array of experiences beyond the pickleball court. Guests are welcome to simply relax and enjoy the surroundings. Whether you choose to participate in pickleball or not is entirely up to you. All of our guests get a terrific rate and the pickleball is just one of the many options included at no extra charge.

What skill level do you expect for the Skeaddle?

All skill levels are welcome, ranging from beginners to experts. While we anticipate most guests falling within the 3.0-4.0 range, we expect a diverse mix with some guests potentially above or below that level.

Who is the pickleball pro?

Skills and drill will be led by Halais Sylvain.  He is a seasoned tennis and pickleball pro with over 25 years of playing experience.  He played his junior years in the French National Tournaments, and later, he played in the National Championships with the Team from 2002-2017.  Halais earned his teaching certification in 2008. He was the director of the CCT Taverny Club in Paris from 2008-2017.

I have special dietary needs. Can you accommodate that?

Certainly! Please inform us in advance of any dietary requirements, and we will collaborate with you and the chef to ensure your needs are met.

Can you help us with suggestions for other activities and sights near the resort?

Absolutely! John and Nancy are familiar with the area and can provide recommendations for exciting adventures, as well as suggest restaurants and attractions in nearby Tamarindo. We aim to delight you with personalized suggestions, such as our favorite beachfront restaurant, Lola’s, located approximately 20 minutes away.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Yes.  We do not provide travel insurance. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance from a third party to ensure comprehensive coverage to ensure your peace of mind.

How do I get there?

Fly into the Liberia Airport (LIR), which is 80 km away.  Plan for 1.5 hours transit time.   You can book your airport transfer directly at airporttransfercostarica.com.   Or ask us, and we will assist in coordinating shared rides with other guests.

You should arrive on November 16th and depart on November 23rd. We recommend planning an arrival a little earlier in the day so you can attend our welcome dinner that evening.
